I bought these Rubra barefoot shoes especially for my New York adventure and all the walking.. Wore them in beforehand, and they’ve absolutely pounded the streets of New York.
The result? Comfy feet and I’m still smiling!
I'm a UK size 9 and orderd a 9.5, which was a perfect fit.
They look great, I love the red, and the slightly thicker soles gave me extra support while still retaining the barefoot feel. Best of all? I don’t even wear socks with them, which is a first for me!!
I was a bit sceptical about ordering after reading reviews mentioning delivery delays, so I was a little quick off the mark chasing the company. Fair’s fair, though- they arrived within the stated timeframe, actually earlier!
Would I recommend them? Absolutely. Comfortable, stylish and New York street tested. What’s not to love?

I’m intrigued by the laces, shorter with the metal tab on the end; hoping they will be robust, but have to say, I like the shorter lace so there isn’t lots flopping around.
After noticing my little toe was turning inwards, i thought I should give barefoot shoes a go. Hobibear was kot going to be my dirst choice, i was being woo'ed by flashy adds. After a couple of false starts, i aaked family and friends and they recommended Hobibear. Must say I am vey happy with them.
Very comfortable and not at all weird like I expected.
The shoes are well made, leather and fabric mix, so not to hot to wear in the sun.
Buying was easy, with only a slight wait in delivery - which was fine by me. No scammy emails or texts offering big discounts that never arrive or dont work (like with other brands I tried). I will be buying more, looking at a waterproof shoe/boot for the winter time.
Shoes seemed very comfortable to start but during first wear they rubbed the back of my heel as the padding at the heel is very thin. A little disappointed as the shoes were sold as having good padding etc. I will try to wear them again once this has healed.
Terrible returns service I had to go through so many emails to even begin to get a return address. Kept being offered discounts on more shoes instead of a refund. They didn’t fit and seemed badly made why would I want to buy more??
Every shoe I have is a UK 8 but these are huge on me. The ties instead of laces come loose almost immediately.
They do look OK though, but I'll not be keeping them
First pair of wide toe barefoot shoes, normally skate shoes but, oh my these shoes are fricken awesome 👌 👏 not going to be my last pair!! Definitely recommend 10/10!
The shoes are OK, fairly comfortable. Could do with more padding on the heel. I disliked that the company makes returns for a refund very difficult however is not transparent about this prior to purchase so I cannot recommend them on this basis.
